    Ex-aequo...CARR :bananaand TRAINWRECK:banana

CARR AMPS...you got to love the neat build on those things...and the use of SOLEN fast caps...no more electrolytics to worry about.

TRAINWRECK AMPS...no frills simplicity...i love it. (edit) no longer built but had to give a lifetime award, if you will...

Other contenders for build neatness :rimshot...HIWATT...COYOTE...MATCHLESS...

    Please name your fave...:knitting

Trainwreck amps are being built in 2009?

I vote for Axe-fx. Cliff built more amps than anybody this year.

Peter Stroud and 65 Amps, I've had one of practically every amp made over the last 30 years and the 65 Amps are the most solid built pure tone machines on the planet, my Royal Albert is big, fat and balanced and the Monterey has a killer 6V6 tone that allows you to just work you volume control for sounds from crystal clean to thick overdrive. You just have to play one of these amps to understand how good they sound.

    world's best amp?

how many different ways can we label the same thread? "you're favorite amp" "if you had all the money in the world which amp would you buy?" "name the top amp builder" "i need amp advice... which amp should i get to have the best tone ever?"...etc....

Zach from Titan Amps gets the award for "largest f**king transformer" and Rookie of the Year, IMHO. 200 watts of rabid fury.

I'd say Bill Landry for the LS100--a channel switcher that does both holy grail Marshall and Fender tones. Many have tried to make this amp happen in the past, he's the first to actually succeed at it.

I've always been a fan of Mike K. of Komet Amps.
