I've seen conflicting reports on this but would I be alright with a 2x12 loaded with greenbacks running with my 100 watt heads. Just looking for some more opinions. Thanks

    2 x 25 = 50
    50 < 100

    Put more simply...

So some of my 100 watt amps have half power switches, or still a no go?

Also it seems some companies put vintage 30s in 100 watt combos 1x12s and the are only 60 watts.

This would be safe with an attenuator backed off by at least 3db. Simply keeping the amp turned down would be risky at best. That said Scumback does make speakers that replicate old 25s, but you can get them with higher than standard power ratings that sound almost identical.

If you can play only using half the power ok. But If you crank these amps above 50 watt for any period of time . YOU WILL BLOW THE SPEAKER . And greenbacks are actually sensitive speakers when it comes to getting damage.... If you can afford it go with the scumback 65 watt version

i've been using 2x12 greenbacks through anything from 5-100 watts for 15 yrs or so....

be careful with higher wattage but its not an absolute no... just use caution

You could be right, but I'd be curious to know which ones. I can't think of any.

Mesa Mark V 1x12 combos can be had from the factory with either a celestion black shadow C90 or a vintage 30.

All I can find is Haggertys Music saying they come from the factory with a C90, but theirs has a V30. Regardless it's not a good plan, and neither is two Greenbacks with a 100 watt amp.
