    Hey, This question comes up a lot in forums as i've seen, but none of the threads really seem to have helped me out. Anyways... I'm the Guitarist and Vocalist of a 3 piece band (Bassist & Drummer) And we're really stuck when it comes to finding cover songs xD We're all Seventeen so we're sort of looking for Recent(ish) Rock music. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D

    Also, If you need any further detail just ask :)
    So far we've got;
    Nirvana - In Bloom
    And possibly Wolfmother,
    Stereophonics
    Smashing Pumpkins
    White Stripes

    Thanks for any contributions :D

    anything by The Who or Led Zeppelin.

    they are single-guitar groups. we're a 3-piece and do some of their stuff... drummer sings about half of it, I sing the other half (guitar).

    pretty much any/all punk can be covered with a 3-piece

    Alice in Chains as well.

    not recent... but you asked.

    I am the bassist in a hard rock/alt 3 piece band. It depends on a few things. First, the guitarist/singer needs to be able to play and sing the song well at the same time. Second, the bass player needs to be able to cover a lot of ground normally covered by a second guitar. My band is heavy on RATM, but you need to be able to pull off the De la Rocha rap thing and play at the same time. We also play a lot of Alice in chains. Other bands we cover include Weezer, Tripping Daisy, Godsmack, Tool, STP, Soundgarden, Local H, The Offspring, Nirvana, Everclear, The Toadies, Cavo, Chevellle, Filter, Harvey Danger, Shinedown, Limp Bizkit, Mad Season, Silverchair, Sublime, and many more.

    Your bass player is going to need a few pedals. I nice OD, a good fuzz, maybe an octaver. You're just going to have to try to learn the songs and see if you can sing them at the same time. Someone else is also going to need to be able to sing back-ups.

    Thanks a lot man :) Really helps out I love RATM, but i don't think i'd pull the rap off well xD Bassist is awesome, I'll tell him about the pedals, although he's got a Boss OD pedal :) thanks again XD
