It turns out the University where I work offers free 3D printing for faculty. This wasn’t really something I imagined availing myself of, until last week when I came across a creative commons 3D file for a pedal riser. i was looking for cheap DIY solutions for pedal risers at the time. Anyway, I decided to get one printed up to see how it turned out, and I must say, I’m very satisfied. Here’s a link to the file ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:357090 ) and some pics of the riser I had made from the file:

Very cool! How much time it took to print the whole thing?

No idea regarding printing time. I dropped it off last Thursday afternoon, and received an email this morning telling me to come pick it up.

There are tons of guitar-related files on that 3D file site.
