I think I just wet myself..
Imagine...this amp with a ...KOMET Pedal feeding it at low volumes.
Hogy you and Mike could whip up a monster of a pedal! Just saying...
My kind of amp.
Why not a clip or two? With all your technical expertise, it would be easy to set up a simple recording rig. You could also demonstrate your low level setup ,which would be very interesting to many of us home players.
The description from Hogy sounds incredible.
Well, I just finished the amp yesterday afternoon. Still want to do a few tweaks and streamline the layout. Give me a little time, things at Komet roll along at an unhurried pace...
I see a lot of the Connie crowd is excited about this one. The Connie is the best amp ever IMO, so this new design has my attention as well. It'll be interesting to see/hear this one.
Will this amp employ the octal preamp tubes?
Yes. I am a cathode biased amp lover, and owned an early Connie for a long while. Count me as excited.
I remember yours with the matching cab. I remember when you sold it too, it was bad ass.
No, there's no octal tube in this one. It uses just two 12AX7s.
The amp has a Saturation control, similar to the K19, but differently implemented. With the Saturation low, it can double as a killer sounding studio/small gig bass amp. For that purpose, a 12AU7 (or better yet, E80CC/6085) in the phase inverter gives maximum headroom. The low end is there.
v-verb, did you sell that white Constellation with the Wenge front? That thing was a monster. I liked them all, but that one sticks out in my memory. If nothing else, it sure was the best looking Komet ever.
Edit: found old pictures.
Let me be the 2nd to say..."Holly Sh!t!!"
Super cool. Really looking forward to hearing this one!
Woah. How weird; I was going to ask if this would work as a bass amp too. I'm totally on board with this. All the way!
That's a beauty but I kinda like this one - not mine but wish it was...
The white Connie I had was this one - still a killer amp!!
Blasts from the past. I'm so bad at keeping records. That's the other white one! I was wondering where that one went. No offense, I'm just scatter brained about this stuff.
That red/birdseye maple maple one originally went to a guy I haven't heard from in a long time. Steiner?
Mike has all of this written down.
lots to keep track of Hogy!
Remember this one? Still loving it!!!
Call it "Anemoi"
I always thought that was the best looking Komet ever made - always wanted a Constellation, one day!
