He didn't like the message of the lyrics, and some people here said they thought he was "cruel to his woman(s)". I like the feel of the song, and he used his voice to sound like he really meant what he was saying.

I notice page 1 is full of McCartney songs. Great melodies, but his sap runs deep.

Does Oh! Darling count? Could never get into that tune.

    She Loves You

Little Help From My friends. I prefer Joe Cocker’s version.

From Me To You. I’m just not big on their stuff before Hard Day’s Night

If I had to pick a 5th, probably Sgt. Pepper. I can take it or leave it.

It was a great suggestion to choose from the red and blue greatest hits albums. My choices from those collections would definitely be 1) the red album’s lame Rubber Soul songs-Michelle and Girl, and 2) the blue album’s dumb animal songs-Walrus and Octupus’ Garden. I actually do not have a fifth selection, because I think rest of the songs are great.

Oh MAN I'm glad to see this question somewhere in public. Understand that I think the Beatles were an extremely important part of rock history, but (generally speaking) I don't really care for them. I like the solo stuff from Lennon and from Ringo, but there's a lot by Harrison I'm not crazy about and there's very little from McCartney I like at all. (Kinda like the Stones. Don't care for them but LOVE the solo stuff from Richards and Wood.)

So here are the five Beatles tunes I would not only be happy to never hear again, but the five if I could go back in time and stop them from writing I would!
Actually I really like Imagine. No idea why.

MAN I'm glad to have this question/poll hit the public light of day. Keeping in mind that The Beatles were a terribly important part of music history (don't care for them as a group but like most of John's and Ringos' solo stuff, much of George Harrisons, and next to none of Pauls - like I'm not crazy about the Stones, but I love Richards solo stuff as well as Ronnie Woods), that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, and that as adults, we should be able to agree to disagree, here are my responses.

Top Five Beatles hits I can't stand.

    Long & Winding Road
    Yesterday
    Michelle
    Fool on the Hill
    Eleanor Rigby

    BONUS 5

    Hey Jude
    Something
    Long & Winding Road
    Let It Be
    Penny Lane

Added bonus - Beatles tune remakes and the folks who I think did them better (except for the very last band listed).

Blackbird - Billy Preston's version is better
With a Little Help.. Joe Cocker's version is better.
Come Together - Aerosmiths version is better.
    Lady Madonna - Fats Domino
    Sgt. Pepper - Cheap Trick
Roll Over Beethoven - Either Chuck Berry (original) or ELO.
Helter Skelter - Mötley Crüe (and I don't really care for them), Pat Benetar (had a huge crush on her in college), Aerosmith (their version sucks and I still like it better than The Beatles), and U2 (the only band I think I dislike more)

    Exactly. Tool and Nirvana LOL.
To be clear I have zero problem with either band. They aren’t in the same universe with the Beatles. I think what many younger people miss is the context, the timing of it all. They did what nobody was doing. These other bands are a product of that and their output isn’t even close.

Well THAT allowed Joe Cocker (with some friends) to take that ball and run with it!

I can't think of one song I really don't like. There are a few songs that are not that good to my taste.

    1. Honey pie
    2. Flying
    3. This boy
    4. The word
    5. Her majesty

But still I think these songs are not bad.
