He'll be playing 5 shows at the Royal Albert Hall. 05/17- 05/18 - 05/20 - 05/21 and 05/23.

The band will be Doyle Bramhall II,Steve Jordan,Chris Stainton,Willie Weeks,Michelle John,Sharon White,Paul Carrack and Greg Leisz.

Wow, that is crazy to think about, what a career! And what a back up band, those should be great shows, I hope there will be a DVD.

Interesting that he has Greg Leisz playing pedal steel on these dates.

I got nothing but love for the guy. My favorite EC period was during the early 90's. I know I'm in the minority as most love Cream or the Bluesbreakers material. Pretending completely changed my approach to the guitar. He has turned out to be one of my biggest influences.

After many years of screwing around, Eric is a professional on all levels and sounds like it. Should be a good show.

I know Ill get slack on this comment but I think hes perhaps the biggest overrated player in the business. hes not that great, Ive heard bar players a lot better. I dont think hed make it to the big time if he were trying to get there this day and age

In this day & age, playing blues based guitar stuff typically isn't going to get anyone (Mayer is probably the one exception) to the "big time"..

Keep in mind that those bar players learned how to play by listening to Clapton.

of course people will slag on clapton. it's a way the people act out. much like a puppy that acts a bitch at a pair of slippers.
