The price is about what it should be, but most people list them for much higher from what I've seen.

I saw one at my local GC for 2400 so that seems right. They are a bargain compared to an R9.

I'd say the range is around $2000-2400 depending on condition, etc. Flametops typically are priced a bit higher.

I'd offer $2000 and go from there.

Could be a 2012 with the laminate fret board. Those seem to be selling for less than other years. Whether or not that is justified is up for discussion. You probably would not notice a difference. I played an 2012 R9 in the shop it actually sounded better than the 2013 next to it.

Depends on whether it's a flame top and what condition it's in. A nice flame top R8 in good condition goes for approx. $2700. An R8 plaintop in good condition is $2400 assuming that there is a CoA. $2200 without the CoA.

5 years ago was 2009. You were not getting any new R8 in 2009 for 2200 bucks. Maybe 1999, but not 2009, lol.
Really? 2008 Guitar Center sale on Sunrise Teaburst R8s. $1,999. Same year, I bought a new R8 for $2,500 (also GC) and a forum friend bought another new one for $2,300.

Not sure if you noticed but I wrote 5+ years. The OP never mentioned how old the R8 is he is interested in.

The price is about right. Folks on eBay post them for like 3,300 and they don't sell. In the real world, where people actually buy them they go for 2200-2400 depending on the condition and COA.

They sound glorious. Just a matter of the neck size being for you or not. For those not used to a neck that beefy, it can be a bit of a shock. For others, it's the only way to go.

$2,200 is in line with the lower used prices. $3,200 on the lowest end for a new one.

I sold a nice plain top 2006 R8 VOS here a few months ago for 2450. I thought it was a pretty decent deal for the guy who got it. 2200 would be really good.
