Just finished this, my third, amp build. Made my own cab from 3/4" pine. Mercury Mags all around. Chassis is from Weber. I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed with the lettering on the chassis, as it doesn't take much for it to come off. Further more, I don't believe the chassis is actually stainless, as stated on Weber's site. Oh well... Lead dress inspired by what I've seen in Clark amps. Had a little trouble with bias voltage until I realized I used a 47k resistor instead of 4.7k. All is well as of now. Amp sounds great, fat and quiet. Tone controls are very useful, capable of a wide range of tones. Dig it!

Beautiful! First Twin build I've seen; these threads are usually dominated by SF1s and 5E3s.

Were the OD caps by convenience or preference? If the latter, nice to see someone else who prefers ODs in tweeds.

Thanks for the kind words. The ODs were used mostly out of convenience. I've had a couple of Victorias that used them. Those amps sounded great. When in Rome...

very nice work.

But why did you put a Fender logo on it?
I wouldn't want "Fender" to be able to claim that level of workmanship.

Yeah, I thought I might get a little flack over the logo but, I like trying to recreate the good old stuff. The amp is for my own personal gigging requirements. I like to think of it as kind of the same thing painters do by copying great works of art.

I agree, nothing different than the guys that build an AC Cobra or Mustang from repro parts.

great build - I'm in the process of building one as a head right now. If mine comes out half as well as yours, I'll be pleased!

I'm amazed at the level of craftsmanship and quality I see from tgpr's build threads. That is an amazing looking amp. Makes me a little embarassed in comparison to my feeble threads. I guess I need to try harder. Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh, and how about some clips! Please? C'mon.

Looks great. Nice job.

I think when people get flack for the logo, it's the guys building stuff for resale using someone else's logo.

Nicely done!
