I know no one, IRL. And I try to guard against doxing across websites, in addition to things online vs. real. My TGP profile and my Reddit user account shall never meet, for example.

Through my amplifier business, I've met many, many TGPers. Some of them have become life-long great friends.

I know three guys on here that spring to mind immediately. They all use their real names here though, so I don't know what to do--I'm so confused!!!!

I have a Bacon number of 1 and a Hendrix, Clapton (and who knows who else) number of 2 through Dan Armstrong, whom I knew fairly well in the 80s. I've met and played with @RhytmEarl What you got? A Gretzky number? ;)

I met one TGPer from an ad in the Forums. He used to live near me, but moved away a couple years ago. He was only active in the Emporium, not the discussion forums.

I work with a guy who is in a Heart cover band, which has an active TGP member on the boards.

My Gretzky number is 2. I met a Calgary Flames player at a lamaze class who body checked him. Lol.

Wouldn’t your Gretzky number be someone you’ve played hockey with that Gretzky has played hockey with by some degree of separation?

I’ve photographed every US president from Ford to the present.

Either before or after they were in office, never during.

That's not how I understand it. You can have a Bacon number without being an actor, correct?

I quit hockey in grade 6 when a buddy got his front teeth knocked out trying to stick check a slap shot. The puck went up his stick blade straight into his mouth. Ugly.

Well I asked that earlier. My brother was an extra in a Kevin Bacon movie, yet I’ve never been in an IMDb listed movie so my Bacon number isn’t two.

I guess we'll need a ruling on this. The question is, who is a recognized authority on Bacon numbers?

Time to google the originator of Bacon #s.

Ok, this is what I found with 30 seconds of intense research. Which, by TGP standards, makes me an expert. :D

Bacon numbers are different than "six degrees of separation". Bacon numbers are, like you said, for actors only. 6 degrees doesn't have that restraint.

So, I don't have a Bacon # to Gretzky unless some kid I used to play with went on to the NHL. Which is unlikely because even if they did, they would have retired long before The Grape One™©® was active.

Oh, in that case I don't have a Bacon # of 1, but since I play guitar and have played professionally, I stand by my Bacon #s of 2 for Hendrix and Clapton. Oh and Pete Townshend too...I forgot my buddy Julie met him and the entire band.

Mildly acquainted with a few, private messages shared with a few, good friends with one.
