Are all parts 6-way rotary the only game in town?

In '75 I bought a GibsonL6S that had a 6 way rotary. I really liked that guitar because the neck felt great and you could get a fat humbucker tone and a funky single coil type tone as well as out of phase tone. Sorry, I know this doesn't help you but when you get old, the mind wanders.

Please let me know what you find. I'm looking for a 3 tier 6 way.

Hey Gordo - I got my rotary switch at an elecronics supply place and just sat down and figgered out the wiring using .... TRIAL AND ERROR! If you go rotary, I highly recommend the chicken head knob:

Gordon, unfortunately I no longer have the L6S. I paid $363.50 for it brand new at Sam Ash on 48th st. NY including tax and hard case. It was my only electric for 8 years and I really enjoyed that guitar.

What did you dislike about the Allparts 6-way? I installed one in my brother's guitar, it's a 4-pole switch. No problems, sturdy enough. Not sure on reliablity, he doesn't play it very often (he's a drummer first) and it's been in the guitar for 1/2 year.

It's the same switch as in the guitarelectronics link. But only available with a chicken head knob from Allparts.

OK, it sounded like you were a dissatisfied customer. The switch has been great for me. It's wired bridge series/bridge split/bridge parallel/bridge series+neck/bridge split+neck/neck.
The only way to wire one of these is to chart out every electrical connection and sit down and figure it out on paper.

Glad you like what you see! We're working on a few that may be the coolest yet.

Where's the blush smiley? :D Thank you guys, I really have fun with this kind of stuff, and the crazier the better! Check out some of Harry's "colourful spaghetti salads" to see what I mean, boy those were fun! (BTW Harry, you'll have e-mail tomorrow re. the green Strat, just giving the final touches).

I bought a varitone switch from Big D Guitars and I have been very happy with it. It is real easy to install. I am not sure this is what you are looking for or not but thought I would throw it in there.
