65 Fender Twin Custom 15

Anyone familiar with these amps? There's an opportunity to pick one up but it'd be good to know something about it before the drive over.

Loud as all hell, favored by some steel guitar players. That's about all I can offer.

good amp... i prefer it to the 2x12 too. breaks up a little faster, but still has a nice clean tone. I liked it because the 15" speaker REALLY brought fuzz pedals to life and ripped holes in the faces of people who got too close.

About a year ago we got to open up for Marcia Ball. The club had one of these for a backline amp. I had it on about 6 and boosted it a little more with a compressor for bluesy solos. It was a great sounding amp. Not as spanky as a Twin Reverb.

I saw a few of thes for surprisingly cheap on eBay, had I been lucratively employed, I'da plopped immediately and picked one up.

I just finished a 15" cab for my BF Bassman . . . I LOVE 15" speakers . . .. add one to the crystalline brilliance, power and utter beauty of a BF FENDER TWIN?!! . . and . . I mean, that sounds like THE amp . . . whatyawaitinfor?

TGP Member Zhurch has one I believe...you might check with him. Then at least you'll know how it works in the chill of Alaska.
