6v6's in usa blues deluxe

    Anybody tried 6v6's in a old blues deluxe? If so-what changes/and or mods did you have to do to do this AND what was the overall effect of doing so as far as tone--breakup etc?

    You need to be sure the tubes can handle the plate voltage (most modern 6V6 tubes are ok) and then there will be an output transformer impedance mismatch between the power tubes and the speaker. Are there 4 and 8 ohm outputs on that amp? Also would definitely check the power tube bias setting whether it is a bias resistor or an adjustable pot. I do not remember the details of that amp schematic.
