I decided to take some better pics of the '74 Jazz Bass that I scored last Friday. These pics do the Bass WAY more justice.

Excellent! I'm glad you put it to Cash America. I used to buy things from them but they banned me from any of their stores. I never did anything wrong! They told me to leave and I was not welcome in ANY of their stores.
My crime? I had bought 8 or 10 guitars from them in the past. I had found one that I liked and upon checkout they noticed my previous purchases on the computer. They accused me of being a wholesaler. I am not! I teach guitar to to troubled and needy youth. I was always on the lookout for decent inexpensive guitars for them. I like cool guitars also. I was told that they want to keep things in the pawn cycle. In other words, they want to sell to someone who will bring the item back in a few weeks and pawn it again. This allows them to perpetually make money off of ONE item. I.E. to take advantage of desperate folks. If I buy it, they will never see it again. It is their "new" corporate policy. Did not want to sell to me because they were afraid I might sell it and make a buck. Be careful! All their stores are linked to a mainframe and any store can see purchases you have made at any Cash America. I think it should be illegal for them to do this but in Texas they have the right to refuse service to whomever they wish. Anyway-GLAD YOU STUCK IT TO THEM!

Yea, over the years, I have gotten the short end of the deal once or twice. I wised up and really got all the info on anything I might want to buy. I almost never buy something on impulse if I don't really know the background and value of any instrument I might want. This one was a no brainer. I didn't have to think to long about paying $60 for the bass.:D

    EXCELLENT SCORE !!!

You can never find anything like that around here any more...not since Ebay & computers.

I'm surprised they weren't wise to what they had....gotta wonder what they gave the poor schmuck that hocked it that they would turn around & sell for $60.00.

    Crack kills !!!! :D

Play that sucker in good health !!!!!! :BEER

Edward, I got it intonated and set up by my guitar tech. It plays really nice since the neck is in very good shape. The pickups are very clean and evenly balanced. For what the body looks like and the age of the bass, it's a great playing instrument.:D
