greetings all- recently picked up a Strat body I'm building out and discovered it has 8 holes for pickguard rather than the expected 11. Anyone have any particular ideas what model strat this might be? I'm assuming it's a late '90's USA Strat but don't know for sure. (seller didn't have much info listed with it when I bought it and I picked it up for such a great price I didn't bother with too many questions!) ;)

Does it have a 6 hole vintage style trem/bridge?
Maybe a '57 RI if so?

American Standards would have the 2 post trem bridge.

PS: What kind of pickup routes does it have?

    Post pics ,
    Between us we'll identify it.
Sounds like a vintage but it could be anything.

thanks guys... I'll post some at photobucket. It is routed for variety of pickup config possibilities... not the full swimming pool routing but close to it - large humbucker at the neck and then open area area behind. (sorry pics a little blurry... shot them in not the best lighting...)

Ya, it kinda looks like an import trem on it. But I'm not positive because of the blur.

thanks guys for the help.... I was told it was an American Strat which is what I was looking for but since I got it for less than $50 I can say that I almost don't even care! seemed like great buy for a project partscaster... I would like to know more for sure so if you guys wouldn't mind taking another look- I posted a few more pics that might help particularly of bridge and jack
