I'm not seeing many of these out there.

    am I overlooking something?
Or can all config's be overcome and re-wired?

    thanks

To have an 8 ohm mono cab, you need all 4 speakers to be 8 ohm.
Wiring it series/parallel or parallel/series will keep cabinet impedence the same as each individual speaker.

What's nailed inside the cabinet? I prefer screws but as long as it's solid - and stays solid - sounds like a great deal. Love the cane grill.

OK thanks, not sure about the insides yet.

one last thing and I'll go away:

The speaker outs on my Rivera R55 are 8 ohm

I see a few 8 ohm Mono cabs out there, like Mesa, Ampeg.

But ALOT of the ones I see (Marshalls, very plentiful) have jacks in the back for 16 ohm or 4 ohm mono !

What shall I do,,, which is a safer alternative,,,plug into the 4 ohm
(oh no) or into the 16 ohm ?

    thanks

    Alan,

I don't know if you saw my reply on the Riveraheads thread, but check out this link:

I wouldn't mis-match impedance, but I have heard that many tube amps can take a 50% mis-match without blowing up, so some would say use the 4 ohm socket. If I were you, i'd go with four 8 ohm speakers wired in series/parallel.

    ah thats you- thanks.
I really plan on a true 8 ohm mono, I was all annoyed with all the Marshall cabs when I wrote this...

between then and now, I have found 2 possible Mesa half backs and one possible empy one. Waiting for replies from these people if they still have them.

I also know that our rehearsal studio has =two= of them !
I'm going to persuade the owner to sell me one. I hope.

    Thanks for the help

FYI they only sell unloaded cabs so the impedence is all about how you wire them.
