Sorry I took so long!! Excellent stuff Buddy. Real smooth! I am jealous that you got to record with Jimmy and Alex!

    When were you at Berklee?

    Buddy,
Absolutely gorgeous playing, and what a lush, sweet tone. I know my ears are smiling.

I also found it very refreshing that you made no noticeable effort to "borrow" or quote other players. With that lush 'verb, it may have been tempting to through a Metheney, Abercrombie or perhaps Goodrick, "riff" in there.

    Superb!

I really enjoyed this. Not the same old "jazz licks". Super melodic.

    Thanks for posting.

    Hey all,

    Thanks for the kind comments.

Scott I went to Berklee a long time ago ..... '68-'69. Mick Goodrick was my private teacher. I even had ensembles w/ Bill Leveatt (spelling?). I've known Alex for a long time and I just called Jimmy for the record. He sure is a nice guy.

Great way to put it Harry.

I really enjoyed both tunes. Very much my sort of listening. Well played, thoughtful, relaxed, good communication between the players. Very much my sort of listening. Well done Buddy.

    Hi Buddy

    I've checked your site http://myspace.com/buddynuanez

Can you tell me what guitar you play on "Swingin". I'm looking for a hollowbody myself and the guitar on that tune nails the sound I'm looking for, i.e. not the usual "muffled" archtop sound but clear with some treble and "zing", while still being woody...

    Thanks

    SSSS,

I uesd one of the two archtops pictured on Swingin'!!. It was either my 1964 Howard Roberts Epiphone (which would be hard to come by) OR my Guild X-150 (Savoy) I like them both. The Guilds are available although I don't think they are in production anymore. They are a good bang for the buck archtop. I also went to Jim Soloway's site (a couple of resposes down) his guitars look and sound real nice.
