made a new guitar as a tester for some new ideas I have. half cherry half basswood, P90, vol only, strat trem & neck till my mahogany is finished. seriously LOUD bad ass straight forward guit. plays like a freight train. satin finish neck and body (waterborne). sorry for the crap pics my camera sux..
gotta make a cover for the trem.

Yes, all his necks seem to be like that. From the placement of the bolts, I suspect that the neck runs under the neck pickup and the pickup is routed into it. So, his neck pocket and neck heel are about half the thickness of fender ones. It seems to work. Maybe you can get the same effect by just cutting back the top side of your neck pocket and thinning/rounding it a bit? Your neck pickup would not mount into the neck heel because you would not have one. When I say neck heel I mean the part of the neck that runs longer than the fret board.

ah I couldn't find a pic of the actual heel so I assumed you meant the fretboard bottom thanks for the clarification! sounds like a good idea but I think I would just make a neck through or maybe have the neck end in the center of the guitar and be visible from the top (flush with the body) and cut the pickup into the neck/body joint.

There is a luthier that runs the neck deep into the body for strat style guitars, almost to the bridge. Forgot his name.

I can't think of one. Well, there is the Eastwood Delta 6. It's an ES-335 Resonator with a neck P-90. Now that's a guitar! Just needs a HB in the neck and a fat neck to make me happy.

Thanks man that's what I was goin for. Simple tight and badass, it's a one trick pony but he trick is biting the heads off other pony's.


Just not sure what to call it.
