A Larry Carlton-ish overdrive?

    Getting back into guitar. Picked up my 1st tube amp (a Carr Rambler). Just curious what would get close to his sound. I saw that he gets his sound from his Dumble overdrive, but that's probably not a viable option for me.

    Carlton uses a Zen Drive when he back lines, so that will get you really close

    Yes, Zendrive, but I like the Jetter Gain Stage Red better (and it can usually be found for less $).

    Zendrive! Or 2 tubescreamers stacked.

    2 Tubescreamer is kindof 1 maxon SD9 ;)

    I'd also add xotic AC booster to the list, gets me pretty darn close!
