Had a couple free hours this afternoon so I jumped on Journo's "Wide Brim" bt, and gave it a go. A challenging one there Mats...nice job putting the track together.:D

    Hi Bill,

Sounds like you had a good time. I always enjoy listening to players who let emotion show through their playing.

There were a few licks in your take close to the end that really shook me. Man, I wish I could do country like you?

    Thanks for sharing!!!

    Cheers,

    Mats N

    Too much fun! :D
Some nice country pickin' (and I'm sure a bit of grinnin' as well).

BTW, the Soundclick player went straight into the Beckish song afterwards. Nice job on that one as well. :)

    Hi Bill,

I'm also curious about the gear. I noted the Dr Z but what guitar and pedals, please?

    Cheers,

    Pretty simple setup, guys...

Am Deluxe Tele (stock)>Boss CS-3>Stingray. Used an SM-57 close mic'd- to a Boss BR1200, and used the onboard EQ & Reverb.

    Thanks again for listening!

Super sweet! It's got that Tele twang, but it's also a really great, round sound with the occasional edge & pinch, if that makes any sense. Thanks.

    Hi Bill,

Is that the new model Am Deluxe Tele with the S-1 electronics and the Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups?

    Hey Mats,

Yes it is. A buddy of mine bought the same model and immediately put Fralins in his, but to my ears the SCN's sound good...and they are dead quiet if your amp is set high. As for the push button putting switching back and forth from parallel to series, I can't do much with that. A little muddy in the fourth "humbucker" position.

Also I didn't mention the cabinet...it is a Z cabinet loaded with a Weber alnico 50w Blue dog.

    Hi Bill,

Here is another backing track I recorded in my humble home studio.
As someone rightly points out this is not entirely my own tune as I "borrowed" the chord progression and a few of the rhythm guitar chops for Mr Brad P.

Still on the hat theme, you can find "Five Gallon" here:

    Looking foreward to your take!

Mats, do you have a "clean" version of Five Gallon? The bt sounds great, but it already has the guitar solo on it.

    thanks, Bill

    Hi Bill,

Please accept my apology for the wild goose chase.
I thought I posted the BT in that thread.

Then I remembered that at the time nobody was interested in c&w backing tracks at all so I didn't post a BT.

To make up for it I have now uploaded the BT for your playing pleasure.
    Five Gallon Backing Track

Very much looking foreward to hearing what you will do with this one.

    Cheers,
