I don't post outside of the emporiums much, but this is just too cool to not bring to the attention of others. Plus, I had some tech questions about it, and the inventor, Andy, has been super helpful/quick/friendly in dealing with my questions.
It's a new pickup design called "A Little Thunder."
It's a PAF-type that also has the ability of adding a very organic sounding bass line to your signal. I don't want to misrepresent what it can and can't do, so here's a link to their Kickstarter page where it's discussed in detail:
