I know they are rare and no longer made. Still, looking to buy one if anyone has one to sell.
Had one. Great amp, but there are some far less expensive alternatives
Totally appreciate that. Having owned one, what would recommend that is similar? I’d like to know what you suggest.
Had an early Carr Mercury that could get a very similar tone, but more versatile, and with tube reverb. I don’t know if he still makes it, but I had a Morgan M4 that was special. Less headroom and EF86 front end, but a Winfield Typhoon nails the normal channel Vox tone
Just ordered a 2003 Carr Mercury. Looking forward to checking it out. Thanks!
Would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to message me
I should also note that the Mercury can use 3 different power tubes with an easy DIY rebias. The EL34 power tube is what made it happen for me
Let us know how things work out. I've read nothing but praise for the Mercury. I've never seen one in the flesh, alas.
I'm a lucky Matchless Baby owner. I've only had it a couple of months and am extremely happy with it. It's not for sale.
