The Silver Sky will be my next guitar, I could care less if the strat fanboys like it or not, I’m just interested in the sound and playability.

So, anything else you have on your mind and want to share with the group?

Nice! What is everyone's problem with this guitar exactly? Isn't it just a PRS neck on a Strat body? Big deal. I hate Fender necks, you dont know how many times Ive thought about wanting a Tele body with an SG neck :p

If you check the target specs, no, it is not "just a PRS neck on a Strat body". But you don't like Fender necks...so you probably won't "get" what Mr. Mayer & Mr. Smith were targeting. And that's fine...we all like what we like and "get" what we "get".

@blues bird, that’s a wonderful quartet of guitars. I hope you get many years of enjoyment playing the Silver Sky.

Great Photo.....looking forward to playing a Silver Sky.......I watched the 40 minute video by John Mayer and the equally long interview Anderton's music did with Paul Reed Smith and it's peaked my interest for sure.....

Wow, nice collection. I originally hated that PRS was doing this, but after hearing the many videos of this guitar, it sounds and looks great. It truely has classic Start tones. I like them. Leave it to PRS to make a better Strat, they make the best guitars. Moreover, I am not hating on Fender and Gibson, I love them, but PRS always seem to do a better job. With that being said, I have a Fender Strat coming in soon and don't plan to buy the Silver Sky.

Four sweet guitars. I'm sure each one is a keeper in its own right.

I notice your "decent tube amp" is a Germino. If it's anything like my Club 40, that's a mighty decent tube amp.

Seeing the PRS next to the strats, I can finally see how different the the body is on the PRS. Wow! Interesting. Thanks a lot for posting that.

I know, right? It's totally different from a real Strat.

This doesn’t help with my regret of not ordering the red one. I have an order in for a white one right now. I’m really digging the red one for some reason

It is a Classic 45. And you are right, it is a mighty decent tube amp!

    Lovely collection!

Also, the Silver Sky body is indeed smaller. Try putting a strat in the SS case, the body doesn’t fit.

Friend of mine owns a store in Scottsdale. Rave reviews, stays on shelf for a day then it is gone.
