    Yeah technically they own the mortgage on my house, too, but so far no blow found.
    Banks are usually the registered owner on large pieces of capital equipment.

    So if a bank finances a trucking company and one day one of the trucks is caught carrying illegal drugs, is the bank responsible?

    Every major bank owns and leases these ships. Just like airplanes,school busses,
    Big cranes, fleets of forklifts,railroad locos and cars. I could go on, no story here.
