this is what i have in mind : the (bypassable ) stereo signal from my floor/pedalboard based delay/modulation fx should go into a 2 amp switcher with a "Y" setting so i can choose between
    a) stereo signal goes to amp A and B for true stereo effect ,
    b) mono ( stereo fx bypassed/off) signal goes to either amp A or B

ideal would be a box that could do both the switching AND the stereo loop ...
does a box like this exist out there , be it custom-made of regular ?

HI nedsteve ! thanks for this idea - i have to look into it. seems like all is needen is a stereo plug from the fx into the middle input and i'm set, right ?
would sweet and simple .... and Boss products do not carry boutique prices, either :)

on second thought : how about the signal quality ?! this unit is really meant for switching and not routing when i'm right .... i wonder how it would treat the guitar signal going through .... any thoughts ?

I am currently running an insert cable from my DD-20 left and right outputs into this then splitting to amps left to A and right to B. I have not had any problems running this way.

i did notice the difference in price .... when i can get my hands on the Boss thingie i will definitely give it a try and a good listen. i also checked out the Lehle line but they have no model with the stereo feature. having one custom built will definitely be over-budget :-(
