Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

Ableton Live Question: Synching Project to Track (not vice versa)

So Live has the ability to drop an audio clip into a track and it will warp the clip to be in tempo with the project. But what about vice versa? In other words, if I record an audio track I like, but not to a drum beat or metronome, the time will probably wander as I soulfully miss the beat because I'm feeling it differently or due to my lousy sense of rhythm or whatever. But the feel might be good.

I'd like to be able to build a song around that - drop it in, and have Live be flexible with the tempo and warp the rest of what I do to match the freeform track, not warp the track to fit a tempo.

Anyone know a way to do this? I've been reading whatever I could find but so far, no luck. Any ideas, other than inserting a new tempo marking every bar or two based on tap-tempoing what's on the original audio track?

Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi! :) Seriously, any advice would be most appreciated.
