    Hi!

I thought about using a aby box to go into my hayseed30 Amp, to have the possibility of using the top boost and the normal channel, or even both together...

my question...can this harm the amp?

    Thanks!

I've used an A/B to go into the two channels of Fender Verb style amps for years.

The only problem there is, if you "Y" it and turn on both the Normal and Vibrato channel at the same time, you get phase cancellations since one of the pre-amp sections runs through one more stage than the other and inverts the signal.

I don't know if your Hayseed would suffer from the same issue or not.

I don't believe you're going to cause any damage doing either (A/B, or Y) but I'm not an amp tech!

    Good Luck,
    Steve

There's ABSOLUTELY no problem with doing this! I've done it with Fenders, Voxes, Marshalls etc and can't think of any way it could cause problems... In fact, Matchless DC30s (a pretty similar amp) could be had with a factory AB box for channel switching...

Don't know if it will hurt the amp long term, but I currently use an a/b/y with my hayseed and no problems. Good luck.
