There's loads of threads on Marshall-in-a-box and Dual-Rec-in-a-box, but I haven't seen any for going the other direction. I have a marshally amp (Orange Rockerverb) and wondered whether there was anything that would help get closer to the AC30/Matchless sound. I mainly play contemporary worship stuff in the vein of Hillsongs etc, so would have things alot easier with some Vox on tap...

Do these not get coloured too much by the amp? The clean channel on the rockerverb still has some bite to it...

I like the Menatone TBiaC a lot. It adds some of that chime to my Princeton Reverb. Great boost, too.

In the long run, that really might be the best way to go. As much as I love my TBiaC, I still want a Matchless or a Vox.

Bryan T, what are you using the TBIAC through? (not to hijack the thread) does it give the sound you're looking for, or is it just a bandaid where you need stiches?

I may be in the minority here, but you might look at a nice compressor to get some jangle and chime. With a realtively clean sound a good compressor can add some sparkle that can sound VOX-ish

I use it through a Princeton Reverb. I use the pedal in the studio all the time. Great for my tele and my lap steel.

From what I remember, the Menatones are voiced to work with Fenderish circuits, though I remember Brian telling me that it will work with lots of different amps, as the tone circuits really aren't that different.

yeah. i might want to pick one of those up and test it out. i think its one of those things that you really need to hear through your rig to see if its legit. Otherwise i might pick up a Ac30 myself!

I have both, BJF EGDM and Menatone TBIAC(new version). Both are fantastic voxy sounding pedals. The TBIAC likes to do the cleaner side of vox tones while the EGDM is killer for voxy solos. I'm playing through a Blonde 6G6-B and Deluxe Reverb amps.

Can the TBIAC boost be used separately for a solo boost or only when the TBIAC pedal is on?

Its an independent clean boost. I dont like the boost on the TBIAC nearly as much as I do the boost in the King of the Britains.

The boost on the TBIAC can be used seperate.

The boost is independent of the pedal. It sounds great - I pretty much leave the boost on all the time with my tele.
