I ran across this youtube series recently from Adam Levy (who used to work with Norah Jones). He posts something every week and the most recent one was this: Advice to a Late Bloomer (for Jazz) Here are the notes I have from the video: 1) Always practice in time (with a metronome or recording) 2) Learn your shell chords (rt 3 7) 3) Learn common jazz tunes and sing them out loud. 4) Don't get stuck on the keys in the real book. Play the song in other keys. 5) Get the iRealPro pro app. Play with with real people. Jazz is about interaction. 6) Listen to jazz actively, not just as background music and take notes. 7) Transcribe solos. He has other tips too. Hope it's useful for people here!
