If you owned the following guitars

    AV52RI Tele
    AV57RI Strat
    Gibson 61RI SG and
    R8 Les Paul

Which would be your next guitar? I am thinking somewhere along the lines of a P-90 loaded guitar. Has to be Gibson (OK, yes I am a brand Nazi!LOL). I dont like the looks of LP Juniors or dog eared P-90s, so which guitar would you recommend me?

    Thanks a lot guys.

Does the 61RI SG have hums or P90s; if humbuckers then one with P90s.

Then next: Gibson 335 semi-hollow (can get either Hums or P90s)

The 61 RI SG has Hunmbuckers not P-90s. Thankyou.

If you want a Gibby - 335 or maybe a 54 LP custom or 56 LP goldtop.

Buddy's got the historic gold top with the P90's in it... very nice guitar. Sounds very rock n roll indeed!

How about a Gretsch? I know you said Gibson, but with a couple a Gibby's and a couple a Fenders in the stable... Why not grab something a bit different? They have these cool hollowbody's with single coil Dearmond 2000 single coil pickups that sound purty darn good!

Get one of the '67 SG Special "reissues" or the sg classic (a lil cheaper but they come with a gig bag, I think, and there are aesthetic differences....)
    That'll cure your P-90 itch.
...or if you have more money/time try to find a good es-330.

One of the things I do is play in a cover rock and blues band and a strat type guitar with a bridge humbucker is a nessecity. The combination single coil and H-bucker covers a lot of ground in one guitar.

If it's got to be Gibson and it's got to have soapbars, there are only a couple of choices. Here they are, there aren't anymore.

    Les Paul Special
    SG Classic
    Non Reverse Firebird
    Les Paul R6 or R4.
    335 with P90's.

If it's got to be Gibson and P-90's you need a '54R!
