I'm pretty sure it would be impossible to not have fun while hanging out with Phil X.

Really interested in that amp! Anyone fimiliar with the original circuit? How well does it take effects like fuzz and distorion? How does it compate to a 5e3 tweed deluxe?

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I find him to be the platonic ideal of a douche. Also, I've never enjoyed his playing or his tone. I find him unwatchable, which is too bad, because he's always playing awesome old guitars that I'd like to hear.

well....i think and hear good tone for not so bad price, and with a master volumen, it's worthy. IMO if this same amp was wearing a bogner badge......i think most folks around will say oohh wow...its great! even if the name was something lame like evil robot or goldfinger or mephisto or soho or any other "cool" names around

Minority here yes. Most people here love his "energy" or his "enthusiasm or seem to worship him, most people I know outside of here think he is a joke and an internet character. Big deal.

Really? Because in LA, well before all of this Fretted Americana, he was well known as a top call session guy and an awesome dude to hang out with at the cat club when the drills would open for the star****ers every thursday night. Oh yeah, and that guy from powder.

Phil is a great dude, and a great player. He's having fun, all the time, but nobody gets the job done like him when you push the record button.

Seems like a character and a cool dude. I thought this thread was about the amp...

Can't wait to try one out. He was getting at some pretty classic sounds going direct... I wonder what the clean headroom is like... love the idea of 4x 6v6 cleans and breakup.

The name doesn't bother me at all.. now it's the type of amp I wouldn't buy without getting to play first.... but I'd love to try one someday and see how it works for me.

Where are these amps actually made? Aside from the speculation, I haven't seen anything definitive.
