I have been working on a pair of cabinets for a couple of JTM 45's.
These are built from some very nice ribbon striped African Mahogany with some nice Flame Maple accents.
The coolest part is the inlayed Maple Sun on the front of these cabinets..
They look so cool I thought it was only fair to share.. :D

Hey Distortion, they look very nice. I like the maple detailing. I am doing something similar right now myself but I'm not as far along. Can I ask where you get flame maple? I am looking for a reasonable source.

Cool, but I would have centered the sun on the panel.

Guys, thanks for the positive comments.

Demented, I have a local source that stocks a lot of exotic woods which is great for me, but not so great for you..
You might want to try ebay.

whoismarykelly, I am not sure if I should address you as Who, or Mary Kelly..
Either way the cabinets were built for a forum member, and the sun's positioning is per his request.

The cabs look great but I can't help but to think what a guitar made from wood from the same tree would sound and look like. :RoCkIn

Those look great, but I have to admit that wasting flamed maple on the inner supports doesn't seem like that good an idea. Is that cabinet taller than the originals or is it just the pics?

That was my first thought too. But I figure it's the same as making pretty 90 degree bends in the wires that most people will never see. Details like that speak highly of the builder, imo.

My second thought was can I get my hand back there to swap tubes w/o removing the panel.

    Great job!

    Very good looking art there!

Would there be any problem with heat dissipation on these?

I wouldnt think so. A regular cabinet is the same as this but with tolex instead of finish.
