Caught these guys last night at the Mercury Lounge in NYC. They still sound & play pretty great even though the last time I saw them was the summer of '88 at the old 9:30 Club. They have a new drummer that was real good. Was shocked to see them cover the Dead Kennedy's "Police Truck". Kind of surreal seeing a swirling pit in the middle of the floor most of the night.

To quote them....

they can make things worse for me,
sometimes id rather die
they can tell me lots of things,
but i cant see eye to eye
i know they know the way i think,
know they always will
someday im gonna change my mind,
sometimes id rather kill

blood stains, speed kills
fast cars, cheap thrills
rich girls, fine wine
ive lost my sense, ive lost control, ive lost my mind

things seem so much different now, the scene has died away
i havent got a steady job and ive got no place to stay
well its a, futuristic modern word,
things arent what they seem,
someday youd better wake up
from this stupid fantasy

blood stains, speed kills
fast cars, cheap thrills
rich girls, fine wine
ive lost my sense, ive lost control, ive lost my mind

(solo)

blood stains, speed kills
fast cars, cheap thrills
rich girls, fine wine
ive lost my sense, ive lost control, ive lost my mind

Great! I've never stopped listening to them since the skater days back in 87. They put out a live album that had Police Truck on it.

Put on "No Such Thing. " Still sounds great. Mike Palm is a great guitarist and songwriter.

It was such an awesome thing to have Mike have played Bloodstains (and Electric Storm) on my guitar... Feb 93:

(funny thing- for like 4-5 times they came through town I was in an opening band for them 3-4 different bands over a 5-6 year time frame)
