So I want aggression and attitude at low gain... I do NOT want smooth and compressed OD. Is there a pedal that does this out there?

I own a Keeley BD2 and an OCD and use both of them for exactly what you describe. In my opinion, both do this extremely well.

HBOD, Screwdriver, Astrotone, Minibone, Animal, Futureman, Ghetto Stomp, and any dirty booster will do this.

The Choad Blaster is great like this. You can dial some sparkly crunch over an otherwise pretty open edge of breakup texture.

EQD White Light or any others in the Distortion + family will give you some bite even at lower gain settings.

aggressive??? Wouldnt that be in the attack, use of power chords...

Any low gain od (barber ltd, mi audio blues boy, etc) can do this...add a little compression and the rest is in how you play...

This or any colorsound overdriver based pedal

+1 I have first hand with both the Black Forest and Futureman. Neither are Colorsound clones, but the DNA is at least partially there. Love them both, but the Futureman won out for my current rig. The Black Forest was bad-ass when I had an Orange, though.

The Field Effects Manifold Drive will do that well when the gain is set down low. It will also do some aggressive higher-gain stuff with the knob up.

I'd assume you're looking for a fuzz with some brightness/jangle when the fuzz is turned down or volume knob is rolled back. I'm kinda looking for the same thing, actually...

I'll vote for the Wampler Ecstacy in the middle position. Bitey and raspy even when turned down low.
I say this is better than all the others mentioned because it has 3 modes. Its like getting 3 dirt boxes in one.
