Guys.....I have an EL 34 Aiken Intruder. I need to re-bias the tubes, but I don't know how. It has the little slots in the back to put the meter into, to read the output of each tube (I have the meter and know how to do that), and it also has the "bias" screw on the back, but I don't know how to do it. (Unlike my Komet which has the idiot proof knob on it).

Can anybody help a brother out?:)

If it is like my Invader you just loosen the outer locknut and then adjust the slotted control shaft with a screwdriver.

Be sure to tighten the nut back when you get the bias set.

I would go to Aiken's website and send him an email. He will respond to you, he's extremely helpful and a super nice guy on top of that. I believe you'd set the meter to Millivolts if he did it with the 1 ohm resistor, that's why I think you should just ask him.

Kick ass! Now, for another flavor throw a pair of 6V6's in there.....love those in that amp too. Refer to Randalls rebias guide for the proper #'s if you do.

I thought that he was still making/selling the Intruder for the US?

30 or 50 watt version? How do you like it? Randall made me one of his last old version Intruder 50s and I think it's a great amp. Pretty amazing how good the cleans are too from a non-channel switcher high gain amp. I used to own a Straub Cantus that was like that as well, just a little darker in tone.

He is..he's just trying to get the Sabre perfected and keeps getting side tracked by the "I can make it better..." Syndrome ;)
