Channel flipping not caring about the Super Bowl when I came across AK & US on Soundstage. Alison's voice had me near tears & the players are beyond ridiculous. No autotune or backing tracks, just crazy talented pros laying it down. Wish I was there. Thank God for DVR!

Yeah, there's a quality in her voice that is magical for sure.... even though I'm not a Bluegrass guy...

Her brother is pretty talented as well. He has played with Lyle Lovett, Bill Frisell, Shawn Colvin, Jerry Douglas, John Fogerty, and the list goes on.

Her mom is an amazing painter. Talented family.

Saw them his summer w/Willie Nelson.

I've been a fan for years, but seeing them live really drove home the point that there's really not anyone playing their chosen style of music any better than they do.

I can't even imagine what it must be like to play/sing that well. Every one of them.

If she keeps her Grammys on a shelf, side by side....well...that's got to be a long shelf. She has 27 so far.

I had the same experience as the OP seeing them live a couple years back. The music seemed to flow from them effortlessly, and the beauty of t left a lump in my throat.

Was this the old live record from 2002 from Louisville, or was a new one? (which I'll have to get)

It's a PBS Soundstage from last year. They are all amazing musicians. Jerry Douglas is something else.
    It's was just on again.

A lot of her super popular material is not bluegrass, although it uses the same instrumentation. Either way=awesome.

My favorite band in the world, and I'm a jazz and rock guy. Saw them live and they are tremendous.
