After 25 years of playing I lost everything. Customized EJ stray and black 52 reissue telecaster, blues breaker amp, high end effects, dr z amp one of kind custom cabs, reeves custom 50, 3 hi-watts, CAE, everything gone haven't played for almost a year after it brings such a part of my life. Divorce and money sucks.
Just a rant as I know others have lay it all.
Even worse so much was in recording pipeline put on hold or perhaps just lost.... Just feeling the need to scream about years and years of working for things to lose it all.

Been there. Don't lose faith. The time will come when you will get some equipment and you can enjoy playing music again.

Hang in there. Many of us have been through that time where we've lost everything. Life has a way of turning around, often better than before. Just press onward...

OP, I'm very sorry to hear about the troubles. Many of us have been there and can absolutely understand what you're feeling.

Hang in there...you'll be back and you'll be stronger and better than before!

Sorry to hear you're going through such a rough spell.

DP and I worked on a project together a while back.

He's a strong writer and multi-musician, so this is especially tough.

    Hang in there my friend.

Sorry. Sucks. I had to sell my studio and all of my gear. I don't even own an amp or cab now. Can't afford one. I don't have the silver lining story to share about how it's all better someday. Wish I did. But you're not alone. Thought I'd share for whatever it's worth.

much great music has been made thru the years on basic, inexpensive gear. I have an Ibanez RG3ex that I love and I paid like $140 for it at a used store. At the same store I bought a Behringer GM110 modeling amp that actually has some decent sounds in it, paid $59. I bought a line6 head and 4x10 from a guy at work who was going thru troubles for $150 total.

Sure, its not the kind of high brow stuff you listed but the equipment doesnt limit me in any way. If I dont write any great music today, it isnt because my gear isnt good enough.

Dont you have some friends that will loan you a guitar/amp for a while?

hang tough and stay positive. I had to sell everything back in 2002, and was without anything music related for 11 years. I didn't even own a pick. I just started playing music again in late 2013.
as stated, cheap gear will still bring joy. I use to have a lot of really nice gear. now what little gear I have is all affordable lower end pieces. I still value it the same as I did my expensive gear when I had it.
I hope things turn out OK for you and you get back on the horse soon.

DP knows my door is open. He just needs to make it here.

Just a sampling of what he did a few years back working solo.

This was part of our long distance collaborative effort.

I'm on bass, acoustic finger picking and 2 Strat Ampeg Gemini I overlays.

The film was done by a volunteer student film crew from University of Florida.

Man, I'm sorry to hear. 2011 was a scorched earth year for me. Lost a job, marriage, house and had to sell most of my possessions. Starting over at 50 is weird. Took until this past year just to get to stable again. I totally understand.

Keep pushing, you will have opportunities to come back around.

Is it possible to buy a cheep, but nice acoustic on craigslist and begin again? I know money is tight but as others have said, keep your head up and move forward as best you can. Better days are a head, we just don't know when they will arrive. The uncertainty is frustrating. Hope all will be found soon.

I thought you were gonna discuss that Robert Redford film

You are going thru the kind of stuff that can be channeled into creative output

Find the resolve to pick up the pieces and start again
