Something very Jim Morrison about the vocal delivery. I really dig this. Thanks for the tip.
I learned about them on here about a year ago and have become a big fan. I'm going to see them live as soon as I can
If this is anything to go by, it's a Twin Reverb:
Edit: On second thought, it doesn't look like a Twin reverb.
For all you, "All them Witches" fans, if you were going to suggest an album of theirs, which one would it be?
I think it's all good. Lightning At The Door would be a good place to start. Sleeping Through The War is my favorite. I don't think you can go wrong with anything in their catalog.
Lightning at the Door and the latest ATW.
They are pretty different on every record, which is a good thing, but it means you may love one record and not like another.
Live in Brussels. The quartet at their peak.
This is the song that turned me on to them. It was background music on a youtube video I was watching and had to shazam it to find out who the band was.
This thread made me log in ...... To say thank you ! Solid !
New standalone song out, if you haven't already heard it:
I love it.
A return to form. Bodes well for the next album.
Great name, but musically it isn't for me. The three tracks I just listened to did nothing for me. The band is good, but I didn't hear anything that I think I will remember tomorrow.
Erm.... thanks for that valuable contribution.
Thanks for your equally valuable reply to my valuable contribution.
Easy there fella, I'm not getting dragged into that one
Seriously, on a forum we’re going to promote censoring dissenting opinions?
Musically these guys are great, but I am a big fan of vocal melodies and the singer seems to have a good voice but in the three songs posted he doesn’t seem to want to sing, he leans toward speaking the lyrics. It almost seems a waste to me not to take advantage of the bands playing with a more musical vocal line. I am sure he must sing out on some songs, I would think. But I would agree @slybird, based on this rather limited sample size, due to the vocal lines, it didn’t inspire me to do a deeper examination of these guys.
Oh, I will add this, love that guitar players playing in that first video, awesome.
It's got nothing to do with censoring dissenting opinions: I just wonder why people see a thread about a band and take the time to go into the thread and tell everyone they don't like them. At least if they offer some kind of constructive criticism it adds something of value.
Put it this way: If you're walking down the street and you hear music coming out of a bar, would you run in and shout your dislike for the band and then leave? No, I suspect you wouldn't.
Either way, don't go and make this more than it is: I was just commenting that the dude's reply wasn't particularly useful to anyone. He seemed to take it well
excellent recording! I wonder who thinks up the theme for these videos? very Sargent Pepper-ish
