allparts neck question

I just got an Allparts SRO neck for xmas. It's the 22 fret rosewood fretboard one with a 12" radius and jumbo frets. What tuners fit on this? I don't want to take my drill bit to the neck. The tuner holes on the neck are too narrow for the spare Gotoh's I had laying around. Does anyone know the tuner hole dimensions for Allparts necks? I can't find them anywhere. Thanks!

I doubt you can find tuners that exactly fit the SRO neck you have without modification. If you do let me know, I'm also interested.

Most tuners either come with modern sized (10mm) and vintage sized bushings (8.8mm). You'll have to enlarge the holes if you want to use either kind, less of course if you use the vintage tuners.

Grab a set of Gotoh 880's from Allparts. The bushings press in with ease and they fit exactly. These are the tuners that the factory makes the neck for. Never an issue.

Absolutely.

Please do not try a drill bit on a tuner bore hole - that's an almost certain disaster.

What I do is use a reamer from Irwin Tool Co. (USA) and open out the smaller back portion of the Allparts bore so I can press the bush back out if I should need to do so.

The tuners Chris and I recommend are the same ones you will find on a CS No-Caster or most Fender Custom Shop guitars, actually. They're my # 1 favorite. I sometimes get the version with the white tuner buttons.

I widened the holes with a drill bit and used 10mm Gotohs. Apparently I should've used a reamered taper, but I was really careful and widened it slowly with the drill bit. Works perfectly

I've gone the "drill with a 10MM bit" route several times and it's always worked like a charm.
