But I am a glutton for punishment. Here is a new instrumental I put together... got a really fun vibe. It is not mixed yet and before I start working on the mix... I thought gettting some input would be good.

    Something fun

    Thanks in advance (as always),

Great riffs and nice motif. Very present mix: compressed and punchy. Reverb on drums is thick. Guitar playing is wicked.

MAN...this is superb! you dont know how much I like good shreding music despite the fact I can,t to play it , sometimes my jazz mates look look at me with twisted eye slack when I talk about my admiration and feel about Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Satriani, John Petrucci, Joey Tafolla, Richie Kotzen, Steve Morse, Greg Howe etc...! your playing is fantastic and amazing ..great tone too, cool mix and sound...drums grab attention from start ..:dude :dude :dude

    Carlos

PS: I wrote a song in 2000 year, a kind of ballad rock instrumental, with my barely approach to shred playing hehe, if you want listen it ..

Wow... thanks for all the positive feedback all!

Weldaar - yep yep... just finishing up an albums worth of stuff. Thought this would be an upbeat opener.

PAF - Nope... but if he got rich from playing with Extreme... I wish I was! :D

CarlosEduardo - Great song! I like it a lot.

myles loud - The drums are Gretch - Catalina Birch CA-F825's (minus the snare which is a DW maple shell)... mic'd using earthworks drum mic kit and an assortment of other mics for close mic'ing (in a semi-finished garage none-the-less).

    Hey Tonegod,

That is some seriously nice stuff! I agree with a previous poster about the Kotzen ,etc.. reference. I love that stuff and you were one of the first people I've heard do it *right*. I tried for years to play like that but realized that I'm more of a Mike Campbell/Gary Louris type of player. In other words, I cannot play that fast and cleanly. Very impressed. We want more...and the gear details too! :D

Please, don't tell me that you played all the instruments..
    That'll really depress me..
Loved it. Great playing and very nice mixing!

    Hi,

    Holy powertubes!!!!!!!!
This is indeed some serious work. I sure wish I could play with that type of attitude and authority.

Keep it coming! I will listen and learn!

    Cheers,

    Mats N

Definitely a good choise for an opener. Aside from the quality of the playing (which was very good), it was a whole lot of fun and that's always more important.

a big +1! It's very seldom that something captures my attention long enough to listen to the entire clip. I hated to hear this one end! I can't think of anything I didn't like about what I was hearing. Great mix, great attitude, great chops, great control and just a pile of fun to listen to. I would LOVE to have that backing track!!!!! Dude..if there's more where that came from on this album you are working on let me know where to get it when it's available! I'll take two! ;)
