Alnico POLE P-90's - how do they compare?

How do they sound compared to steel pole P-90s/Jazzmaster pickups? Is that the same thing as the TV Jones T Armond (DeArmond single coil)?

I compared 2 sets of Vintage Vibe P90s with identical specs other than the magnet differences, with one set having alnico 5 rods and screws, and the other set having staggered alnico 5 slugs. In the end I determined that I preferred the rods/screws but the differences were quite subtle and could have been much attributable to height/stagger issues. The rod/screws set seemed to have a bit more beef.

They will be pretty close to DeArmonds or JM pickups. Clearer in the midrange with more sparkle than a P90. Especially good in the neck position.
