Am I able to remove a single magnet from my P90 guitar?

Im sure nothings going to explode, but I have a pair of Fralin vintage style p90's that a friend converted to 4 lead wiring so I could have series/phase options. I really like the wiring, but would like just a bit less bass on the P90's (I like brighter pickups generally). I read that the removal of P90's is pretty straightforward, many people swap magnets.

Can I remove either magnet from either side of each pickup and still retain series/phase switching? (meaning 1 mag remains on the P90)

Also, if the answer is no, what mag replacements would you recommend to get a bit less bass response? I believe A5's are already in there.

    Thanks in advance, btw.

i'd think you'll want to replace the one magnet with a spacer of some kind, like a bit of hard wood of identical thickness, so you can tighten everything back down.

sound-wise, i'd guess that it still works but just gets really weak.

Good idea, I wonder if I can use popsicle sticks for that.

You could swap in a pair of A3 or A4 magnets.
