I've got a potential client who wants to fly my band in for a wedding this summer. I'd need Backline/PA / Lights. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Well that narrows it down to 1/2 of Amarillo :). The whole scene is pretty weak (or was a few years back), but there was a production company that did work with the performing arts center (which is pretty cool), most of the "music" stores closed down when Guitar Center opened. The best venues and talent I knew sound wise were in the mega-churches. But I'll see if I can dig up some names...

Or even a band who might be willing to rent out a keys rig, guitar rig, bass rig, drum kit, 16ch pa and a couple of lights....

God has apparently determined, (after 5, count them, 5 moves away), that I will always live here.

What do you need exactly, and I will get you some names and numbers.

    Lol PB...

Here's our generic back line rider:

Drums = 5pc kit with cymbals, pedals and hardware including drum throne. My drummer plays Gretches but Yamaha, Ludwig, etc will be fine

Bass = SWR bass rig or similar

Guitar = Fender Deluxe Reverb or similar. I'll probably bring my own pedal board..

Keys = Roland 88 weighted keyboard or similar. 2nd keyboard = Yamaha or Korg etc. Probably goes without saying but sustain pedal, stand, drum throne etc. And for an amp he uses a JBL Eon 15 so something like that will be fine.

    4 Vocal mics = sm58's on booms.
    Horn Mics = 3 sm57's on booms
2 lead vocal mics on straight stands = Wireless Shures or similar.

    Mackie 1604 mixer or similar
    Outboard Reverb & Delay
    Mackie SRM Powered speakers 2-4
Pair of subs - nothing too big
Some Par cans on sticks (2-4 per side)

    4 rhythm, 3 horns, 2 front vocalists

It's a wedding gig so giant stacks is NOT what we're looking for.

Thanks in advance for the help. We have not booked this gig yet but I need to get a quote in order to get back to the client with a budget.

Wow! OK, so you guys wanna fly in, go to the stage, and basically be ready to play. I'll get you some names and numbers tomorrow, but I don't need them to know you should be thinking "large quote". lmao.

On a serious note, would you consider figuring in a actual production cost or at least a producer to coordinate it all for the quote?

Also, if you wanna shoot me a pm with the last name of the client, I can probably give you insight as to "don't waste your time" or "how large the budget can be".

Only name I have is the MOB - Carolyn Christy

There is an event planner in the mix - don't know her name. So a producer - probably not...

Probably just need someone to deliver the gear and run sound for the event. We'd be happy to help set up the back line gear and break it down. But not interested in loading it in or schlepping it out.
