I want to pick up a Mesa f50 or f100 head and I need a cabinet but I don't necessarily wanna spend 500 on a cab Mesa cab for it. So do they all sound the same, will I still get the same Mesa tone? Whats a good brand for cabidnets?

There are brand cabs made by Jeff Swanson, Port City and Bob Burt (amongst many others) at the higher end price-wise, and those like Avatar and LopoLine which are more of a "value" brand. I'm very happy with my Avatar and Lopo cabs. Maybe those w/ experience playing both ends of the price spectrum can chime in.

No and no. A big part of the Mesa thump is from the oversize physical volume of the cabs.

Try finding something used. It'll be cheaper and the speakers will already be broken in.

Anybody have experience with Perfectone Cabs on ebay? They are out of Anaheim and claim to be the source producer of cabs for a boutique manufacturer. Among others, I love the look of their 4x12 with black taurus, black gold grillcloth and gold piping. I would be thrilled to learn a little more about them.

As for the OP, does he mean a substitiute head cab, or a combo cab for a chassis already in a head cab?
