Looking for an Amp, Either Head or Combo. That can get those SRV "Lenny" type Cleans, and then go to "Machine Gun" type Gain.

I'd like Reverb for the Clean Channel.

Looking to stay around 2K used.

    Any Suggestions.

Orange Rockerverb - and you can get them for under 2K new, and right now, they are selling used for just about as much as they do new. Try before you buy if you can...

Redplexi, I've got a bunch of Rockerverb clips on my gear page, via my signature. 3 or 4 Hendrix clips, probably right up your alley. There's plenty more over at the www.OrangeAmps.com forum. It's not exactaly a Marshall or a Fender...got its own sound. But it does have very good reverb and an excellent effects loop.

Look for a two rock jade used. I think they might have one at midtown music.

While you might have to use a pedal for gainy stuff, for the Lenny type of cleans, a clean used Fender Super Reverb reissue can be had for around $750. Pop in some decent tubes and you'll have about the best tonal bang for the buck platform you'll find for blues rock....IMO. After stepping off the boutique amp bus myself recently, I picked up a used Super Reverb reissue and I almost forgot how great these amps can sound  .

Two Rock Opal or Emerald Pro, prbably the Onyx as well. Bogner Shiva, Orange Rockerverb, Mesa Lonestar, Mesa Tremoverb.

Easily my favorite for those tones would be a Bruno UG 30 and a Fulldrive II, or a Cowtipper 22,35 or 45 and a Fulldrive II. :AOK

I'd love to Find an Onyx in the 2K range Used. Or a Custom Reverb.

Also...kind of hate to even say it...but if you found either an Ampeg VT40 or V2 from the early '70s (pre-master vol) you would have the best amp you could imagine, in that vein. Big fat juicy cleans with monstorous low-end. LOTS of gain. Notably more than your similar Fender with a much tighter bottom. Extremely responsive to touch. Lighten up and you got some loud, clean tone. Reverb too.

The cost? Well under $500  ...shhhhhhh.

An old Fender Vibrolux Reverb with Jensen ceramic speakers. These amps have the great blackface cleans but have a "rowdier" breakup when pushed. hard to beat the old gear. :D

But the all time amp for blues and rock IMO is the tweed 4x10 bassman. They really do blues and rock. :dude

Actually, some people are finding them for ~1300 new. Guys who paid more like 1500 new, or more, are taking it in the shorts on resale. Which is very good for potential buyers......

Try a Dr Z MAZ Jr & a fuzz or overdrive for super heavy stuff. Really the amp cranked sounds amazing and cleans up nicely.

Check out my post today for a Dr Z MAZ Jr clip with a strat.
