Best I've found is the BJFe Line....
All of them of great amp like feel.
    You dig in = dirty
    Light touch = cleaner
    Very dynamic...
Baby Blue is a great blues "feel" pedal.
Bjfe has many colors/tones you can pick from.
EGDM really does turn my Fender into a Vox
Dyna Red Really Does turn my Fender into a Marshall
I love the BJFe line of pedals.
The builder Bjorn Juhl truly is a "Mad Professor" !
My favs are the "Holy Trinity"
    EGDM
    Dyna Red
    Honey Bee (champ,supro like)
Check them out for sure, if you have the $. They hold their value, if
for some reason you don't like them or want to try a different "color"
    Good luck!
    :)

BJFE, definitely - the Menatone Line also deserves a mention.

I just spent a couple of hours with my E and BJFE BBOD. The BBOD is very amp-like. With the drive at about 11 o'clock the gain is entirely touch sensitive. I was doing a lot of fingerpicked blues and I could go from very clean to raunchy grit just by the attack of my fingers. I was really digging it on Muddy's "Honeybee." Lots of dynamics with the BBOD.

v-stack pedal. they are amp sims, not boosts. picking this is almost cheating.

It's the Bjfe Emerald Green Distortion Machine
I use it with a 64 Fender Princeton Reverb. With my Les Paul or SG I can nail "Last Dance with Mary Jane". It not only gives the sound of an Vox but
the feel. PM Dean to Order (Pinkstrat)

YES the BJF pedals are IT!

I have looked far and wide for pedals that actually sound like real overdrive, and the BJF stuff is the real deal.
I have an EGDM and now a HB and it just makes me want more. Next up I have to get the PPF.
The BJF pedals are unique in that they don't sound as compressed as other pedals, they don't have any 'op-amp' artifacts, and they don't sound like fizz added on top of a clean sound-they actually sound like part of the amp circuit. Just wonderful sounding pedals, very natural.
I had a fulldrive mosfet and an OCD right before these, and the difference is night and day- the fulltone stuff sounds either dull and compressed or over-hyped highs and lows. The EGDM and HB sound 'just right'. More importantly, the overdrive character in both is like pushed amp type drive, not like cascade pre only type drive.
I have never bought a pedal that made me instantly have to get more of the same line until these little treasures.

Hermida Audio Zendrive - best distortion pedal I've ever heard in 35 years of playing guitar! This little monster sounds HUGE, and cleans up like a good all tube amp. The demand for these is huge right now, and the wait
is long, but well worth it!

BJF and Lovepedal are well represented.

I'm going to give props to the builder of Clark's new Gainster....

    David Barber.

The Tone Pump and Burn Unit are fantastic, you can play chords with them and the notes stay defined.

On a budget, the Direct Drive and LTD's are some of the finest pedals for the money that you will ever purchase.
