    Hello,

I am new to low wattage amps and was looking for input from you all on what would be a good match for a THD 2x12 cab with Celestion Alnico 15 watt Blue speakers.

I like and play classic rock, Hendrix, Al Dimeloa and smoother jazz stuff.

I have other amp set ups, but they are all higher powered amps. Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Ed

Vox AC 15 or AC30, 65 Amps London, Matchless DC30, Brown Note D-Lite 22/33 come to mind.

Bogner Duende is a great sounding head that would work very well with that cabinet.

I'd suggest trying a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia. If you want something more Vox-like, the Winfield Cyclone is fantastic. I play both through a 1x12 with a Celestion Blue.

Plus one of the Matchless, or Bad Cat stuff. HC-30, Lightning, Spitfire, Black Cat, or Cub would be excellent choices!

    Thanks folks...

How about the Dr Z Maz 18 JR? Are they pretty much the same as the Ghia?
I've seen the Maz 18 on Youtube and did not think they sounded that good, can these get a high gain lead tone /sound also?

Heritage Briton II would be a good choice for that cab.

Mesa Lonestar Special. I use a 2x12 cab loaded with Blues with it and it is amazing.

    Howdy,

I'd suggest an 18 watt Dr. Z Carmen Ghia. I'm not sure if it'd have enough clean headroom for Jazz ( assuming a HBer equipped guitar). For low volume, clean Jazz it'd be adequate. For Classic rock/raunch, this rig would be King of the hill!

PS: I play my Ghia head through a 12-inch Weber AlNiCO Silver Bell and it's great for getting my Ya-Ya's Out!
