I tried searching, can anyone make a recommendation for where to get work done on my Mesa?

I asked Evan Gluck and he said that Blackie from Tubesville moved to LA, and he doesn't know of anyone else yet.

The problem is that my Mesa is old and pretty rare, so I would really like to find someone knowledgeable, but I don't want to spend a fortune on repairs if at all possible.

    Much appreciated!

You'll probably have to go to New Jersey.
Give Jimmy Somma a call www.sommatone.com
He went over my Boogie last year.

    Best, Pete.

If you can't find anyone in NYC I have a guy up here. He's the real deal and 2+ hrs north of the city. PM me for his name and number if you want.

The guy at Rogue music has been getting quite the reputation. His turnaround time is pretty ridiculously fast too.

One day I dropped off an amp and halfway through my subway ride home when I popped out into open air in the Bronx I had a message on my phone that the amp was fixed.

    Jimmy Somma?

How far is "Sommerville" from the Bronx?

thanks for all the suggestions! i think i will have to check out rogue--i don't have a car, so traveling is a bit tricky.

hopefully this won't cost too much... :)

You might want to try Harry Kolbe at Soundsmith:

I did some research after Tubesville relocated. My buddy just had some work done on his Vibrolux and really liked Kolbe. I haven't tried him yet myself.

harry kolbe is one of the best in the world, and has been doing amp repair/mods probably longer than anybody. and he is excellent! he's done work for me, and it's always been spot on.

anyone know kolbe's work rate? he seems to be phenomenal, but i may not be able to afford him (although the "if you're gonna do it, do it right the first time" mantra is looming over me)
