I have a matchless amp that vibrates when powered on . It only vibrates the second the power switch is activated then stops. Sounds great. And no other issues that I can tell. Is this normal or the sign of a possible problem in the future? Or am I just being paranoid? Haha

    Thanks for your help!

Is that something I could fix on my own?

Bad rectifier tube can cause this also.

If your PT is a bit loose, the induced magnetic feld might toss a bit of iron. But it would be a "knock" not "vibration" methinks.

Every time the compressor in my fridge clicks on I get the knock. This is followed by sympathetic vibration that dampens out swiftly.

    EMF stuff.

Tighten the nuts holding the power transformer and try it. See if the vibration goes away when the standby switch is in the operate position when you turn on the AC power switch.
