    Hey everyone,

I used my AMPLIFIRE pedal live for the 2nd time and got some great video of it. Unfortunately the club we played at was pretty small and doesn't put guitars through the PA, so I brought my Boogie Mark IIc+ and ran my AMPLIFIRE through the effects return. Sounded HUGE.

I got some great video and explain everything on the YouTube page. Let me know what you think!

And... before someone says it... yes, it's Metal. I play in a Metallica tribute, and this is the sound I use. There are no Plexi or Vox tones here. I'll post some of those eventually. And yes, I DO use delay on my solos. :dude

Also, forgive the sloppy playing... they can't all be perfect gigs... lol!

    Thanks everyone!

    Nice - that sounded LARGE!

I'm not the biggest Metallica fan in the world - I do like some of their stuff tho. That said, that was just a festive video! Well done man!!!

Not a Metallica fan either. But that sounds really convincing!

    NIIIIIIIIICE!!!!!!!!!

Your singer looks like Hetfield so much it made me do a double check!

You guys play it really tight on Metallica; and for their stuff that WORKS. It's the only way to pull it off, you CERTAINLY pull it off. :aok

I'd love if you could post some patches (is that possible) or screenshots of the editor of your tone? I've been having difficulties getting a great hi-gain rhythm + lead tone out of it, although the cleans/semicleans are matching with my old AxeFX II so far. I'm sure its in there if I mess around, but I'd rather see how others are doing it than looking for new IR's.

I'm assuming you are not using the stock IR's on the amplifire?

I'd be happy to! I am using the stock IR's, but in this example the cabinet modeling is turned off since I'm running it into an actual tube amp and speakers to power it. Sounds amazing direct as well. I'll post screenshots here tonight when I get home. Can I actually post files as well? If so, I'll post the presets as well.

That was excellent! IMHO, the guitar tones work a little better than some of the live clips of Metallica I've seen recently. Nice heavy, chunky without loosing the mids too much.

And Blackened is such a great song...excellent pick for the start!

That was sick! Love the "no plexi or vox tones" disclaimer too... rock on!

Thanks Chris. I watched the video after posting, so didnt see that until after. Sounds good though. I definitely wish I still had a tube amp around to try the Amplifire into it, sounds like it'd really give you that mesa feel.

I like that your singer actually kinda looks like James, and sounds like him too. Good find!

Trust me... I get plenty of Mesa feel even without the amp. :)

Sounds excellent Chris. Thanks for posting that. What boost is that on your pedal board? Koko Boost?

Nope... it's just a Dunlop CAE boost. Super clean, not much tone coloring. If anything, it feels like it brightens the tone a bit. Also using a Dunlop Jerry Cantrell Wah and a TC Electronic Flashback Delay (which I didn't even end up using).

Excellent. Thanks. I just looked that up and the price is very reasonable. Great playing. Your early Racer X demo was awesome as well.

Dude... really? And I was about to post a link to the presets I used... until somebody had to go there... ;)

Lol... just kidding. Here's the link:
    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/isgpzos9ktqgz25/AABxj0ydbnzIo3NKMLgw_43Oa?dl=0

    I uploaded the following:
Rhythm Dry.pre (basic dirty rhythm tone)
    Clean Low.pre (clean sound)
    Lead.pre (solo tone with echo)
Lead Wet.pre (solo tone with tons of echo for dive bombs and just plain noise... like at the end of the quick demonstration in the beginning)
    Screenshot of my Global settings

I have the footswitches programmed this way:

Left: Switches between Rhythm Dry and Clean Low
Middle: Switches between Lead and Lead Wet
Right: Turns echo on and off

    I'm using the stock IR's.

Have fun, and let me know what you think!

    Dude your singer looks familiar!

Sounds good, one thing is the fizzy warmness I seem to struggle getting with the Recto model. In person it sounds great, and feels heavy. Almost too polished, I am definitely gonna load up your patches!!! :munch
